I'm not the sporty sort, so my baseball diamond has little to do with the game itself. I was inspired by home base, the place it begins and ends. For me, it begins and ends with Rest. Yesterday wore me out. I committed to a lot, and was more than ready for rest by the end. I may race my heart around the bases some days, but must always remember to return to this place of Rest. When I've made such intentional practice of this, I really notice when that rhythm is lost.
I'm at my home base today, having worked remotely and attempting to take breaks at regular intervals. My pup and I went for a sunshine-filled walk around the neighborhood.
This is from a communal art piece coworkers at my first post-college job made for me. It's one of my most treasured possessions. Each person filled a square and this particular one resonates with me today.
