Dorothy the pup and I went on a photo scavenger hunt in the neighborhood at dusk. As we wandered the trail and into the woods, I observed the intersection of nature and civilization. Always a battle of the wills, those two.
Please forgive the iPhone camera zoom and shaky hands, if you can -- this looks more like a painting than a photo -- but look closely and you'll see a buck in the bottom center, watching me. His deer family of 5 grazed around him while he kept watch. Look up and there's Interstate 40, brave commuters of rush hour oblivious to life beyond the guard rail.
Nature reclaiming everything.
Surrounded by the process of birth and life and death and decay, we're somewhere between winter and spring these days. Snow one day, 65 degrees the next. I sometimes wonder if the earth is confused, but it always adapts.
Vines overwhelming a building.
I'm thankful for golden hours and meandering in the woods.
